Easy Street Mystery Quilt - Part 1

I can't believe that it has been six months since my last post.  Where does the time go????

The first clue for Bonnie Hunter's latest Mystery Quilt (called "Easy Street") was released early on Friday, November 23rd, and I got started on it right away.  I'm only making half of the recommended number of pieces for each clue because I have NO intention of making a queen-size quilt!  However, I WILL be working on a queen-size quilt for Bry and Karen's bed as a first wedding anniversary gift.  I can hardly believe that it has been almost a year already!

Here is a photo of the 100 four-patch blocks that I've finished for part 1 of the mystery quilt.

Can't wait until Friday the 30th of November for the next clue.  In the meanwhile, I'm ironing fabric in preparation for cutting strips for Bry and Karen's quilt.  I'll be working on their quilt during the days in between completing mystery quilt blocks and waiting for the next clue.  I HATE to be bored you know!!

Orca Bay Mystery Quilt is done!!

I finally got the binding on today, and I think that this is perhaps the most beautiful quilt that I have ever made.  What do you think?

My Version of Bonnie Hunter's Orca Bay Mystery Quilt

For some unknown reason, I decided that today was the day that I would post another Blah-de-Blah. Maybe because it is a new year? Maybe because it is Friday the 13th?  Maybe I just needed something to do? Definitely NOT! At any rate, here I am again. My last posting was in April 2011 -- nine months ago! Where did that time go?

Here is a photo of the latest Bonnie K. Hunter Mystery Quilt that I have managed to partially finish.  She named this one "Orca Bay."

As per usual, I wimped out and didn't use all of the blocks that I made.  I simply can't handle making HUGE quilts, so I just go with lap quilts.  However, this one is still just a quilt "top", and it will join all of the others in the cupboard until I get around to quilting them all (or not).  I have lots more leftover blocks to play with too when I get a roundtuit!  Until then, we'll call this posting done.
