I finally got the binding on today, and I think that this is perhaps the most beautiful quilt that I have ever made.  What do you think?

My Version of Bonnie Hunter's Orca Bay Mystery Quilt

For some unknown reason, I decided that today was the day that I would post another Blah-de-Blah. Maybe because it is a new year? Maybe because it is Friday the 13th?  Maybe I just needed something to do? Definitely NOT! At any rate, here I am again. My last posting was in April 2011 -- nine months ago! Where did that time go?

Here is a photo of the latest Bonnie K. Hunter Mystery Quilt that I have managed to partially finish.  She named this one "Orca Bay."

As per usual, I wimped out and didn't use all of the blocks that I made.  I simply can't handle making HUGE quilts, so I just go with lap quilts.  However, this one is still just a quilt "top", and it will join all of the others in the cupboard until I get around to quilting them all (or not).  I have lots more leftover blocks to play with too when I get a roundtuit!  Until then, we'll call this posting done.

Three is a CHARM?

Do you get all stressed out when you go looking for a particular item and can't find it? I can tell you that I do! It seems that the more organized I get, the fewer things that I look for are anywhere to be found!! By the time I located the item I was looking for this morning, I had gone through the same basket three times. I knew it had to be there, but I never dug deep enough until the third time (which is a CHARM). In less than half an hour, I'll be hitting the sidewalk with my 49 cent stroller from the Salvation Army. Therefore, I'll sign off for now, get a quickie lunch, and head out to pick up my walking associates. Today there will be four of us (not a CHARM), but we are definitely charming while on parade!!

I'm Back!

Whodathunkit???? July 23, 2010 marked my one-year anniversary of neglecting my Blah-De-Blah!! Now it is nearly another 9 months since July 23rd, 2010, and I'm back! "Where have you been?" you ask. Well, all I can tell you is that "I have NOT been to visit the Queen, but if I had, I'm pretty sure that I would have frightened the pussy cat from under her chair." "What made you say that?" you ask. "Well, all I can tell you is that "My mind does funny things when I'm blah-de-blahing, and it has been a really looooonnnnnnggggg Winter!!" I promise to try to post more often now that Spring has sprung!

Progress? on the back porch project

Well, the back porch project is coming along, slowly but surely. I've posted the photos that we have taken so far, so simply click on the TITLE of this blah-de-blah, and you can view them at Photobucket.

Actually, Steve has made some "electrical" progress since these photos were taken. The porch light functions again, and we even have a real light fixture up, as well as an outlet so that the washer can be plugged in!

Saturday, the 25th, he'll run more electricity -- Yipee! There are still about a million things to be done before Winter comes along, so I hope that we make it. It would REALLY be nice to have it all closed in so that we can have HEAT out there this Winter! Only time will tell.

Until then, we'll keep on keepin' on.

Our Trip to Ohio Amish Country

Although Grandma Bird's BROWN ancestors weren't Amish (that we know of anyway), she did fall in love with the countryside in which the BROWNs and the Amish settled, and she never misses a chance to travel back there to a whole different world. This time we went there to attend a reunion with our STROUSE cousins. Of course, the trip ended way too soon, but we shall return there one day!

Seeing as the photos wouldn't load here, I'm inserting a link that you can click on to view them at photobucket. Just click here.

Be sure to check out this link to one of Grandma Bird's newest favorite place: 55 West & Co. Stefanie rocks!!

How does your garden grow?

Despite the lousy weather, our garden is growing quite well. The flowers help to make it appealing while we wait for the tomatoes, zucchini, green peppers and melons to develop. Can't wait!! I know that you have already received email about this posting, but something went terribly wrong, and the photos wouldn't load. If you are interested in seeing our garden photos just click: here.

The garden is getting tons of rain today, so it should grow like crazy the next time that the sun shines! The little zucchinis are already forming!
